Stepping Out

of my comfort zone to start a brand new life in a new city.

It's kinda hard to talk right now.

It's been four weeks since I started working for the Cow Box Computer Company (CBC Co.) and my training's officially over. My hours have changed, so if you're wondering why you can never find me either IRL or online, it's because I no longer have even the little bit of a life I used to. My schedule is essentially waking up ridiculously early, getting home about 13 or 14 hours after I left, having dinner, and going straight to bed. My "weekend" is on Wednesday and Thursday for the next six weeks.

The job itself is going fairly well. I'm doing better than is expected out of a n00b, but not as well as I'd like.

In other news, I'm sick again. I've spent the last two days praying to the porcelain god approximately every seven minutes. Today's been a bit better, but if it doesn't soon stop, I may have to go to the hospital for some IV fluids. I tried making a doctor's appointment at a local practice, but I was told that they wouldn't see me without a copy of my medical records. So I called my old doctor's office (in another state) and was told they wouldn't send my records until I'd been seen by the new doctor. At that point, I dragged my pale-as-death butt out the door and physically went to the new doctor to beg them to intercede. By the time I left, they'd given me all the forms I'd have to fill out before my appointment and had faxed my old office. Hopefully that'll get taken care of soon.

Basically, the appointment I've got next week isn't for this current bout of illness. It's to get established as a patient so that next time I won't have to jump through so many hoops to get seen. I suspect that I might actually have some type of chronic illness (and yes, I do have an idea of what it probably is) which used to just be an annoyance, but since I've moved, it's been much more serious.

Anyway, long story short, I'm alive and ... alive.
